Richard B. Rost

Richard B. Rost, Esq. was born and raised on Maui.  After graduating Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Oregon in 1999, he received his Juris Doctor from the UCLA School of Law in 2002.  He returned to Maui to practice, serving as a Deputy Corporation Counsel for the County of Maui for 12 years, focusing on civil litigation.

He has litigated numerous cases in state and federal court, at both the trial and appellate level.  He has experience with personal injury, employment, real property, contract, civil rights, and various other types of cases.  He has also handled arbitrations and mediations.

Richard is licensed to practice in Hawaii and California, and is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States District Court for the District of Hawaii.  His article Qualified Immunity for Government Officials Under Hawaii Law was published in the Hawaii Bar Journal.
